Dear Parents and Carers,
This week has been our first full week of the activity program. We hope the girls enjoyed having some time to settle into boarding before starting their chosen activities.
For the upcoming few weeks the girls will require pocket money for trips and activities out (including the chance to swim/gym at the local leisure centre every week) so please get in touch if you do not know how much pocket money your daughter currently has in boarding. We recommend £60 a term for full time boarders and £30 for part-time and if at any time your daughter’s pocket money total is low, we will endeavor to send a sticker home in her diary.
It is now urgent that all parents have a look on ParentPay to check the activities that their daughter has chosen to take part in this term and be sure all permission slips and payments have been returned. If permission and payment are not received, your daughter will not be able to participate in her activities.
In the coming weeks we will be focussing on oral hygience and teeth brushing so please could you ensure your daughter has everything she needs for keeping her teeth clean (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash and floss if possible).
On Monday 21st May we will be holding a mentoring activity evening. These happen once every half term and are an excellent chance for the students to bond and spend time with their mentors. The mentoring program we run in the residential provision is really important to us and we hope it will continue to support our younger students.
On Thursday 24th May we are having an evening all about the letter “P”! The girls will have a choice of swimming in the pool, going to the park and a Princess and Pirates party. If your daughter would like to bring in fancy dress or accessories based on this theme, then they are more than welcome to!
Although it is the Summer Term, the weather is not quite there yet, so please ensure your daughter is prepared for rain and the cold too! Hopefully the weather will improve in the coming weeks, so please ensure your daughter has packed a bottle of sun lotion, cool summer clothing for the evening and a pair of light pyjamas.
Finally we would like to take this opportunity to wish all our students taking exams in these next few weeks the best of luck.
