Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you so much for your support and understanding over the past academic year. The team at Limpsfield Grange have worked really hard to minimise disruption to the students and your support has helped us to manage the challenges posed by the pandemic.

As you will be aware, today marks the beginning of Step 4 in the Government’s roadmap, where many COVID19 restrictions are relaxed. At Limpsfield Grange for September 2021 we plan to keep our current measures in place. We will continue to operate the full curriculum, and students will be able to mix freely with their peers and friends. If students wish to continue to wear face masks in communal areas, they will be welcome to do so. We will not reintroduce assemblies or other large gatherings of students and staff in September 2021.

In September 2021 students will, if they are able, be asked to wear face masks in their taxis to and from school, as they do currently.

We will review our measures towards the end of September 2021 when more information is available relating to infection rates and the spread of the virus in schools.

From 16th August 2021 schools will no longer trace close contacts of confirmed COVID19 cases; this will be done by NHS Test and Trace.

From 16th August 2021, children under the age of 18 years old will no longer be required to self-isolate if they are contacted by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact of a positive COVID19 case. Instead, children will be contacted by NHS Test and Trace, informed they have been in close contact with a positive case and advised to take a PCR test.

In September 2021, if your child has symptoms of COVID19 we would ask that you do not send them into school and that they take a PCR test, and self-isolate until they get their PCR test results.

We will request that any student who presents as unwell during the school day is collected by their parents or carers as soon as possible and are taken for a PCR test if they are presenting with COVID19 symptoms, self-isolating until they receive their results.

Students must test for COVID19 before we return to school in September 2021. Your child will need to take a Lateral Flow Test on Sunday 29th August 2021 and Wednesday 1st September 2021. If your child receives a positive Lateral Flow Test result, please email Miss Phillips to let her know by 6pm on each day. They will then need to get a PCR test and to self-isolate whilst they wait for their results.

We will not be conducting on site Lateral Flow Tests for students at the start of term.

With regards to holidays, families should make sure any travel is in line with national travel guidance. It is possible that you and your children may need to self-isolate when you return from a trip overseas. Any periods of holiday travel related self-isolation should also fall within the school holidays.

If you have any questions regarding our plans for September 2021, please do get in touch with me, I’d be happy to answer your questions.

Thank you again for your support with this matter.

Kind regards
Mrs Wild
