We organise activities and groups that promote Wellbeing, Achievement, Communication and Independence (WACI). We aim to enable each young person to live a fulfilled and independent life. To do this we help them to develop self-esteem and resilience in a secure and supportive environment. Activities focus on developing self-care skills in personal hygiene and cooking; travel skills; problem solving skills and using money in the community. We also run groups that help students develop skills such as communication skills; emotional self-regulation and social interaction skills.
‘The young people are able to develop their personal, social and cultural development through a broad and varied array of activities and events. Each young person is worked with on an individual basis and strives towards increasing independence.’ Ofsted December 2013
