Dear Parents and Carers
COVID19 – Limpsfield Grange Closure
It is with regret that I write to inform you that Limpsfield Grange will close from the end of the day on Friday 20th March 2020, due to the coronavirus. We have experienced unprecedented levels of staff absence, with a high number of staff absences expected to last for a long time. This means that we do not have enough available staff to run Limpsfield Grange safely. The decision to close the school will be reviewed regularly and if our situation changes I will let you know quickly.
I would like to assure you that this decision has not been made lightly, and is motivated solely by my desire to ensure that all students and staff at Limpsfield Grange are kept safe and well. I fully understand that this news may be surprising to you, following the Prime Minister’s speech on 18th March 2020, but the decision that I have taken is in the best interests of our whole school community.
We will take the following steps during the period of closure to ensure that our amazing students can continue to access their education:
* All students will be sent home with a work to complete. We will send home enough work to last for two weeks.
* We will provide a wellbeing telephone call to each student every day from a member of staff. This will start on Monday 23rd March 2020. Tutors will collect student phone numbers on Friday.
* Parents can get in touch with tutors as the first point of contact via email as normal if they have any questions or concerns relating to school. Tutors will respond to parental emails in a timely fashion if they are well enough to do so.

As the school office will be closed we will have an alternative number to ring whilst the school is shut. The number is 07375 312460 and will be manned between 10am – 3pm each weekday. The number is available to Limpsfield Grange students and parents only.

We will work with the authorities to ensure that the new guidance for awarding GCSE grades for Year 11 students is followed and implemented fully.

I do understand that this is an incredibly difficult time for you and your daughter, and want to assure you that although the school building won’t be open, the staff of Limpsfield Grange will be available to work with you and support you and your daughter during this this challenging time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful staff at Limpsfield Grange who have worked tirelessly with the students over recent weeks to keep everyone calm, positive and focused on learning. Their professionalism and dedication has been incredible.
If you have any questions about this matter please do not hesitate to contact me, I would be happy to talk to you.

Yours sincerely
Sarah Wild
