Autism Outreach for Schools

Autism Outreach for Schools is available free of charge to all mainstream secondary schools, academies and specialist provisions in Surrey. Our experienced team aim to help schools understand and meet the needs of their autistic, neurodiverse students.

Autism Outreach for Schools is happy to visit independent schools and schools outside of Surrey, for both targeted student support and training, on a charged basis
(charges available on request).

Students who are referred to the Autism Outreach for Schools do not need to have a diagnosis of autism but should show traits of autism and/or have social communication difficulties.

What do we offer?

  • 1:1 meetings with students
  • Classroom observations
  • General staff autism training for staff

SIFA supports secondary schools in strengthening their inclusive practice and is explicitly aligned with the new Ofsted framework. Schools, will each receive up to 30 hours of bespoke support across two terms, selected from a flexible ‘menu of support’.

SIFA is designed to provide tailored, collaborative support to help schools enhance inclusion, behaviour understanding, and attendance outcomes.

Areas of targeted support may include reviewing policies and curriculum areas, improving transitions and learning environments, staff development through training and coaching, SENCO support, and strengthening both student voice and family engagement. We are excited to beginning the delivery of SIFA.
